Half Day & Full Day Introduction
The Makoura Half Day and Full Day Introduction Programmes provide you with a basic understanding of how 4wd systems operate and the practical experience of driving a wide range of conditions in a controlled manner. It is practical 4wd information and tuition for everyday use to improve workplace safety on your work site or property. Who should attend

2 Day Intensive Experience
The Makoura 2 day Intensive Experience offers you the opportunity to learn in great depth all about the theory and practical aspect of safe 4wd and off-road operation of your vehicle. It will allow you to test the limits of your capabilities and those of the vehicle. It will allow you to have practical hands on experience to improve you 4wd driving skills. You will find out how and why the vehicle behaves the way they do.

Programme Information
This Comprehensive four wheel drive training programme is a level 3 programme which comprises 3 theory learning modules and a further module which requires practical driving tasks. The programme requires you to complete the theory units before attempting the practical tasks.
Programme Outline The theory learning modules cover unit standards
17976 Demonstrate Knowledge of Operating a Light 4wd in an Off Road Environment 20848 Demonstrate knowledge of and Skills for Driving a Light 4wd Drive Vehicle on Road
The Practical module covers unit standards
17978 Operate a 4wd Vehicle in an Off Road Environment 8138 Fit and Remove Vehicle Chains
On-Line Material: The online module is made up of 3 subject units:
Module One How does it work? Module Two How does it handle? Module Three How is it operated?
A module includes a course workbook which will be sent to you on enrolment and pointers to other sites for information such as legislation, dynamics
Assessment
The material and assessment is available for your use at any time after you have been accepted as a student on the course.
